Explore dedicated student scholarship opportunities in Washington, D.C.
Students participating in immersive academic programs at the USC Capital Campus are eligible to apply for two Capital Campus scholarships. Students can apply for both scholarships via Scholarship Universe.
Note: Students must be participating in a USC Capital Campus Program (First Semester in D.C., Spring Semester in D.C., Summer in D.C.) in order to be considered for a scholarship. Students are strongly encouraged to apply to both scholarships for the semester in which they will be in D.C.
The Epstein Family D.C. Student Experience Scholarship
The Epstein Family D.C. Student Experience Scholarship provides the opportunity for USC students to pursue immersive experiences in Washington, D.C., both throughout the regular academic year and over the summer. The fund provides support to students with demonstrated financial need whose curricular and co-curricular interests align with the following priorities:
- Protecting democracy
- Combating antisemitism
- Supporting the lives of Veterans through policy and research
Students will be asked to answer the following questions when applying:
- Describe your current financial circumstances and explain how they create a barrier to participating in the immersive Capital Campus experience.
- Describe how your study, internship, or experience at the USC Capital Campus aligns with the scholarship’s targeted areas.
The scholarship is awarded to multiple students throughout the academic year, as well as over the summer.

The Leslee Sherrill Scholarship
The Leslee Sherrill Scholarship provides financial support to one student per semester participating in academic and co-curricular experiences at the USC Capital Campus in Washington, D.C. The Scholarship honors USC alum and former USC Washington Program participant, Leslee Sherrill, who went on to have a distinguished career as a White House staffer, public policy institute director, ABC News senior executive and USC presidential advisor. Building on her passion for USC’s Washington programs, the Leslee Sherrill Scholarship provides students with the opportunity to pursue a transformative experience in Washington, D.C. Whether they’re attending a summer program, spending a semester in the nation’s capital or taking part in a conference or symposium, this scholarship can help make their experience possible.
Whether students are are participating in the USC First Semester in D.C. Program or the USC in D.C. Spring Semester Program, this scholarship can help the experience possible. Funding may be used to cover lodging, tuition, housing or other eligible expenses related to studying in D.C.
Preference is given to students who are enrolled in the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences and who participate in programs and events offered by the USC Center for the Political Future. Students will be asked to describe how their interests and needs align with the Leslee Sherrill scholarship. Students must also submit their resume.
